Here's My Workflow!
I usually will start with either a voice call, or just messaging back and forth with a client so that I can figure out exactly what it is that they need. After the voice call or messaging, If they have sketches or images of what they want the end result to be, I’ll take those and figure out how to make them a reality. For this video the client already had images for me to look at, which made the design aspect of the video quick and easy. Here are a few of those images.
After taking a look at the provided pictures, I go on to setting up my Premiere file. I usually have a folder for images, video files, voice overs, etc. For this video I had to take many images that I was given and turn them into a video, making them come to life! The picture below is my premiere file after the video was finished. This was a huge video and ended up being 42 layers, only 27 are shown in the picture! Long story short; video editing can be extremely difficult, but the end result is so worth all the hard work and seeing that my clients love the video I made for them is the best feeling ever.
So in this particular video I got to do something that I’d never done before, which was animation. I’ve worked on many videos, but I’ve never had to take an object and make it look like it was moving, or in this case flapping it’s wings! I went into After Effects and turned a still image of a butterfly into a lively butterfly that went across the screen interacting with pictures/words. Here’s an image of the butterfly.
After putting the butterfly into the video, we tweaked a few things, added some music, and the video was finished! Here’s the finished product after all revisions were made and all the tweaks were worked out.
I had a lot of fun with this video, and it’s definitely one of my favorites that I’ve made. So much work went into it and I learned so much while making it! Thanks for taking the time to read through this and look at all of the hard work that goes into making videos, it means a lot!
